Stewart Homestead Cabin

A unique resting place in the Onion Valley near Crawford, Colorado!

Henry and Margaret Stewart homesteaded this area of Western Colorado in the early 1900’s and their descendents continue to reside in this area today.  The original cabin stands next door to the current cabin where up to nine adults can relax, eat and enjoy all the beauty Western Colorado has to offer its guests.

Join us for a weekend or a week! Click here to take a Virtual Tour of the Cabin and take in the views of the West Elk Mountains!

What’s Happening on the Ranch

The end of May is within sight, we have received much needed moisture and the ditches are running full with the Spring run off.  The last of the calves are getting branded and vaccinated today so they can be turned out on Spring pasture.  They are as ready as we are to stop the feeding of hay.  There is a season for everything under heaven and it is the season for new grass and a life in the mountains.  This is one of the most beautiful times of the year with the crystal blue skies, green meadows and snow on the West Elk Mountains.  Be thinking of your summer vacation to the cool mountains of the Western Slope of Colorado and the quiet peace of Onion valley and the Stewart Cabin.  The wild onions are just getting their buds to bloom and when they do the valley and side of the hills are covered in a beautiful reddish blue.  Many happening in the North Fork Valley with Crawford's Pioneer Days coming up on June 7 & 8th.  Check out the web sites of www.crawfordcountry.org and www.northforkvalley.net for what are up coming events in the valley.
